Summer Camps
This summer, dive into acting, musical theater, moviemaking, comedy, and more! Alongside popular week-long camps like Broadway Bootcamp and Movie Camps, students can take part in exciting performance-based experiences, including productions of SpongeBob the Musical, The Little Mermaid, and The Odyssey. Note: Summer Camps will be held at various venues, all located conveniently in downtown Bloomington.

Summer Camp: Theater Playground for Littles: A Mythical Creature Quest (Rising Grades 1-3)
Step into a world of magic and wonder with Theater Playground for Littles: A Mythical Creature Quest, an expanded version of Constellation’s Theater Playground program for rising 1st-3rd graders, specifically designed to ignite imaginations and build essential theater skills. Each day, young “questers” will explore legendary realms through enchanting activities like Dragon Dreams, Unicorn Universe, Mermaid Mystery, Phoenix Fantasy, Pegasus Playground, and Fairy Folklore, using these themes as a springboard for learning fundamental performance techniques. Summer Camp: Theater Camp for Kids: The Odyssey (Rising Grades 4-7)
For rising 4th-7th graders, Theater Camp for Kids: The Odyssey offers a hands-on, beginning-to-end experience of being in a play. Experienced professional teaching artists will guide campers through the process of auditioning, casting, table reads, table work, blocking and staging, rehearsing, adding technical elements (costumes, props, wigs, lights, sound), and performance. Join brave Odysseus on a legendary journey home as he outsmarts mighty gods and outruns mythical monsters in this epic, kid-friendly, high-seas adventure! Summer Camp: Movie Playground for Littles (Rising Grades 1-3)
For rising 1st-3rd graders, Movie Playground is an introduction and exploration of the world of moviemaking! With guidance from a professional filmmaker, campers will learn the basics of how a movie is made–from the spark of an idea all the way to showing it on the big screen. Using popular family-friendly films as inspiration for movie-themed activities, campers will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of visual storytelling, world-building, character creation, and acting. Campers will put their new skills to the test by creating their own mini-movies–all while learning the ropes of being on a movie set–in this fun, hands-on, creative environment. Summer Camp: Musical Theater Camp for Kids: SpongeBob the Musical (Rising Grades 4-8)
For rising 4th-8th graders, Musical Theater Camp for Kids: SpongeBob The Musical Jr. brings the colorful world of Bikini Bottom to life in this feel-good musical about friendship, optimism, and community. This 2-week exploration of the art of musical theater will promote confidence and instill the spirit of collaboration in aspiring young performers. Directed by Debby Jenkins, an accomplished veteran musical theater educator with expertise in music direction, campers will build skills in musicality, vocal performance, acting, movement, and stage etiquette as they are led through the beginning-to-end process of putting on a musical. The week of intensive training in acting, singing, and dancing will help budding musical theater artists develop and sharpen skills, gain confidence, and make friends along the way! Summer Camp: Comedy Camp for Kids: The Zip Zap Zop Zone (Rising Grades 4-7)
For rising 4th-7th graders, Comedy Camp for Kids: The Zip Zap Zop Zone provides the perfect playground for the creative kid with an active imagination and undeniable funny bone, as well as the more introverted kid who just needs the right environment to be inspired to come out of their shell. This immersive and hands-on comedy camp will give budding comedians the opportunity to build improvisational skills and performance technique in a safe, fun, and collaborative environment.
