Project Constellation

Constellation’s annual project pairs professional filmmakers with Bloomington area high school students to create a high-level short film that’s screened in Bloomington and submitted to film festivals nationwide. Students will have the opportunity to shadow all positions of film production, from screenwriter to director to cinematographer, and everything in between. Students will also be able to audition for a number of roles and have the opportunity to perform alongside professional actors.

Filming will take place in February 2025 – exact dates TBA.

Project Constellation Auditions

Constellation Stage & Screen is holding auditions for our upcoming 2025 Project Constellation short film, Rock, Paper, Destiny. Project Constellation is designed to be an experiential learning opportunity for students interested in filmmaking. This film is expected to shoot over 4 days between February 17-23, final dates TBD. Actors in leading roles will require multiple days of shooting and will be paid. All supporting roles are unpaid.

Auditions will be held for local, Bloomington teens aged 14-18 on December 15th. Click here to find role breakdowns and details on how to submit.

Upcoming Events & Workshops

Project Constellation – Acting for the Camera Workshop
This is a free workshop for Bloomington area high school students interested in Project Constellation

When: Sunday, December 8th from 2pm-4pm
Where: Constellation Studios @ 411 E. 7th Street, Bloomington, Indiana

Join us for an on-camera acting workshop led by Constellation’s Education Director, Eric Shelley. We’ll focus on the nuances of close-up screen acting through exploration of the technical distinctions between acting for the stage and acting for the screen. Students will learn techniques for creating effective on-camera close-up performances, including modifying vocal projection, gauging the size of gestures and expressions, and maintaining eyeline.

Any students are welcome, and this will be excellent preparation for those who are interested in auditioning for roles in the film this winter! Register to attend using the button below!
