Acting Ensemble for Kids: Peter Pan (Grades 5-6)
Constellation’s Acting Ensemble for Kids: Peter Pan (Grades 5-6) is a fast-paced and fun exploration of acting that will use the beloved and timeless classic, Peter Pan, to focus on building an ensemble. Students will also learn the basics of theatrical staging and theater etiquette while developing the building blocks of acting technique, including voice and speech, creative movement, and exploration of world and character. Imaginations will soar as they bring Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook, and the cast of Lost Boys, fairies, pirates, and mermaids to life for a final showcase! Students will emerge from the class more articulate, confident, and collaborative performers. This class is perfect for beginners, as well as acting students with some experience.

Theater Playground for Littles: Bluey Takes a Bow (Grades K-2)
After last year’s successful Bluey Meets Broadway, Bluey is ready for an encore in Constellation’s Theater Playground: Bluey Takes a Bow, an introduction to theater arts for Littles (grades K-2nd) that will focus on the fundamentals of storytelling through imaginative play. Drawing inspiration from the ultra-popular Bluey series, students will explore pretend-play games while building foundational theater skills such as improvisation, communication, and character creation. Class activities will spark creative thinking, examine point of view, promote active listening, and encourage self-expression.

On-Camera Puppetry for Kids (Grades 3-4)
On-Camera Puppetry for Kids (Grades 3-4) is an introduction to the art of hand puppetry in celebration of Constellation’s upcoming Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical! Students will learn the fundamentals of puppetry, including movement, weight, mouth action, lip synchronization, eye contact, breathing, and vocal and physical characterization. Learning the art of puppetry sparks creativity, builds confidence, fosters social-emotional development, promotes active listening, refines motor skills, and builds on skills in storytelling, all while having fun and making g friends along the way! With inspiration from popular series like The Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock, budding puppeteers will explore how to breath life into their puppets on camera as they create their own puppet show that will be filmed and shared for family and friends to enjoy!

Acting on Camera for Teens: The Close-Up (Grades 7-12)
Constellation’s Acting on Camera for Teens: The Close-Up is an on-camera, workshop-style class that focuses on the nuances of close-up screen acting through exploration of the technical distinctions between acting for the stage and acting for the screen. Students will learn techniques for creating effective on-camera close-up performances, including modifying vocal projection, gauging the size of gestures and expressions, maintaining eyeline, and understanding the camera’s ability to perceive a character’s thoughts. Classes consist of discussions, video examples, on-camera exercises, including monologue and scene work with video playback.

Improv for Adults: Beyond Beginner (Ages 18+)
Constellation’s Improv for Adults: Beyond Beginner is a fast-paced, highly interactive workshop-style class that reinforces and builds upon improvisational skills and performance techniques. This class will focus on short-form improv, will offer an introduction to long-form improv, and is open to adults with previous improv experience (class, workshop, troupe, etc). Improv is a magical and collaborative art form that is not only fantastically fun, it boosts creativity, develops storytelling ability, enhances listening and communication skils, and builds confidence and resilience. Students will practice their skills in a safe, supportive, “Yes, and” learning environment.

Intro to Improv for Adults (Ages 18+)
Constellation’s Intro to Improv for Adults introduces basic improv skills and performance techniques. This fast-paced, highly interactive class will focus on short-form improv and is open to adults with no previous improv experience. Improv is a magical and collaborative art form that is not only fantastically fun, it boosts creativity, develops storytelling ability, enhances listening and communication skils, and builds confidence and resilience. Students will stretch their imaginations and put their spontaneity to the test in a safe, supportive learning environment.

Musical Theater Workshop for Adults: The Broadway Ensemble (Ages 18+)
Come explore the ensemble numbers of Broadway in this 10-week performance class for adults! In Musical Theater Workshop: The Broadway Ensemble, students will learn and workshop ensemble songs from classic and contemporary Broadway musicals under the direction of a seasoned, professional coach/teaching artist and musical director. Students will develop skills in stage etiquette, stage presence, musicianship, and vocal technique as they collaborate to bring musical numbers to life with exciting harmonies and light staging/choreography (Light choreography will be tailored to comfort level and/or ability). The class will culminate in a cabaret that showcases the ensemble with opportunities for soloists to shine. Musical Theater Workshop: The Broadway Ensemble is a prerequisite to join Constellation Singers.

Broadway Kids: A Musical Revue (Grades 3-6)
Come explore the kids’ solo, small group, and ensemble numbers of Broadway in this 10-week performance class for 3rd-6th graders! In Broadway Kids: A Musical Revue, students will learn and workshop solos, duets, small group, and ensemble songs from classic and contemporary broadway musicals under the direction of a seasoned, professional teaching artists and musical director. Students will develop the building blocks of stage etiquette, musicianship, and performance as they bring musical numbers to life with exciting harmonies, staging, and choreography. The class will culminate in a musical revue that showcases both individual and ensemble talent.

Acting Ensemble for Littles: Finding Nemo (Grades K-2)
Acting Ensemble for Littles: Finding Nemo is a theater arts class for young, budding performers that builds upon their interest in acting, movement, and self-expression—all while having fun and letting their imaginations dive deep! Designed especially for Littles (grades K-2nd), this class will explore the expansive, under-the-sea world of Finding Nemo. Students will become familiar with the basics of script analysis, stage directions, and storytelling in an interactive and dynamic learning environment. The class will also implement confidence-building theater games and improvisation activities to spark creative thinking for a lifelong love of performing. Students will get to show off their new skils with a final showcase on April 26.

Documentary Filmmaking Fundamentals for Teens (Grades 7-12)
Documentary Filmmaking Fundamentals takes young, budding filmmakers through the beginning-to-end process of creating their own documentary short film. Students will learn how to research and understand a subject matter, identify a unique perspective, craft a compelling narrative, build trust with subjects, and choose a narration style, all while gaining the technical skills in camera and audio that are required to bring their subject to life on the screen. This class is ideal for students who want to use documentary filmmaking as a tool for social change, as an outlet for artistic expression, or as a platform for giving a voice to the voiceless.
