Endowment Fund

THEATRE FOR ALL. THEATRE FOREVER.

Ensure a lifetime of world-class theatre, locally crafted right here in Bloomington, Indiana by supporting and sustaining the Cardinal Stage Endowment Fund.

Your gift will introduce Bloomingtonians to the joys of live theatre for generations to come and will live on in perpetuity, guaranteeing the highest-quality theatre for all, forever.

Why an endowment?

The Cardinal Stage Endowment Fund is an investment in the longterm growth and sustainability of our mission. The endowment yields an annual distribution to Cardinal Stage (about 4% of the total fund balance), providing a reliable source of annual unrestricted income, alongside other sources such as ticket sales, sponsorships, grants and donations.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment to the Community Foundation, Cardinal Stage recently received $30,000 in additional matching funds for the establishment of the Fund.

Should I give to the Endowment Fund in lieu of my regular annual contribution?

Please don’t! Annual operating support from our regular donors is essential to Cardinal’s success. If you are a current donor to Cardinal Stage, we thank you for your support and encourage you to continue contributing at a level that’s comfortable for you. However, we hope you’ll consider a planned gift or additional source of support to help us sustain Cardinal’s future.

Where is the endowment held?

The endowment is held in perpetual trust at the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County.
