What Needs Support Now?
Local Theater Impact
This season, A Christmas Story the Musical and An Act of God are at the center of our Local Theater Impact initiative—an effort to highlight how community support directly strengthens the role of live theater in Bloomington.
These productions are more than shows. They create jobs, spark childhood memories, and offer experiences that can only happen locally. Here’s how your support makes a difference right now:
Supporting Local Artists & Staff
Each production brings together a team of local actors, designers, musicians, technicians, and administrative staff. When you give, you’re helping provide steady, professional opportunities for artists who live and work in Bloomington. Your support keeps creative talent rooted here—and ensures our community continues to benefit from their skills and storytelling.
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Youth Ensemble Experience
This year’s Youth Ensemble plays a major role in A Christmas Story. For these young performers, this isn’t just a show—it’s a rare opportunity to train and perform alongside professional artists, learn industry-level expectations, and build confidence onstage. With your help, we can continue offering meaningful experiences that shape future performers, patrons, and creative leaders.
A Bloomington Holiday Tradition
For many families across our region, the annual holiday show has become a tradition. Kids grow up with it, relatives plan their schedules around it, and new families join every year. It’s a shared experience that brings generations together and adds something special to the season. Community support helps us maintain the quality and accessibility that make this tradition worth returning to.
Why Your Support Matters
Producing high-quality theater with a strong local footprint is only possible when our community invests in it. Ticket sales cover part of the cost, but donations ensure we can:
- Pay artists and staff fairly
- Build productions with the level of detail our audiences expect
- Offer professional opportunities to local youth
- Keep traditions alive for families throughout Bloomington
- Continue strengthening the city’s cultural and economic vitality
When you give to Local Theater Impact, you’re supporting the people, stories, and experiences that make Bloomington’s arts scene unique. Your generosity keeps local theater thriving—and helps create moments our community will remember for years.
