Fall Fundraiser 2024
The PlayOffs:
Constellation’s biggest and most fun fundraiser of the year is here!
The PlayOffs is a 24-hour short play fundraising competition in which a writer, director, actors, and managers team up to create a new piece of theater in just one day! Teams will write and film a full production based on “curveballs” – like a surprise theme, prop, and line of dialogue – within a 24hr period (October 19-20). Community members can vote for their favorite plays and donate to buy extra votes, culminating in The World Series, a live screening event and awards ceremony, on November 2. One lucky team will come home with the World Series Trophy and the ultimate bragging rights!
We need to raise over $80,000 this year! Support your favorite team with a donation!

About IKE & JULIE ARNOVE:
In the words of their son & our sponsor, Bob Arnove: My mother Julie Arnove was a free spirit who loved to dance around the house barefoot to music she listened to on the radio. She was interested in art and fashion design and was forever the diplomat, learning greetings and farewells in the languages of many countries she visited with my dad. Isadore (“Ike”) Arnove was the pragmatist who always supported the underdog, standing up to bullies and fight-ing for just social causes. Although nearly deaf in one ear, he, like Julie ,learned greetings and witty phrases in Greek, Japanese, and Spanish- to name but a few of the foreign languages he studied. His “Park-way” Drugstore on the SW corner of Fullerton and Clark in Chicago was akin to the famed Schwab’s Drugstore in Hollywood, where the famous came to sit at the pharmacy’s lunch counter – among them, Jim Thorpe, filmmaker Haskel Wexler, Sargeant Shriver, and Bobby Kennedy. Ike and Julie Arnove embodied many of the qualities of the adventurous spirit of The PlayOffs.
