Constellation Stage and Screen presents Anne of Green Gables

Constellation Anne of Green Gables

The siblings were getting older, and they had a farm to run, so they sent away for an orphan boy. But they got a girl instead. Anne. That’s Anne with an E. As you’ve probably figured out by now, that’s the set-up for L. M. Montgomery’s classic novel, Anne of Green Gables. In the century since she wrote it, it's sold millions of copies, and it’s been adapted for film – there’s the Canadian one I grew up with, and a new, grittier Netflix version – for tv, with both live-action and animated versions, including an anime version I just discovered. And of course, musical and dramatic versions for the stage. Bloomington’s own Constellation Stage and Screen will be presenting a new stage adaptation by Catherine Bush on November 10th through the 27th. Director Mallory Metoxen and Alexa Norbeck, who plays Anne, joined me in the studio. Listen to our conversation above. You can find more information here.
