About Project Constellation’s Winning Film: Blue
Project Constellation is a state-wide writing competition is open to all Indiana high schoolers and offers students the chance to fully produce their own movie, with the help of a professional film crew! Last year’s winning screenplay was Blue by Piper Parks, a high school senior from Columbus, Indiana.
Blue tells the story of Oliver, who after months of loneliness and isolation, has lost her spark, her sense of color and feeling. In the dullness of her depression, she’s lost touch with the feelings and places that she once felt safe. A familiar young man, Blue, comes to her in a dream and tries his best to make her see things the way that she used to. Throughout their journey, Oliver realizes that while opening up and reaching out can be hard, with a little help, you can see the color in your life again.
Born and raised in Columbus, Indiana, Piper Parks has always had a love of reading, writing and the creative arts. Combining her passions, Piper wrote her winning screenplay, Blue, based on her experiences of loneliness and isolation during the pandemic. Now, Piper can be found enjoying life as a college student majoring in English and writing for online publications like “HerCampus.” She hopes to help others explore this colorful post pandemic world through her writing!
